About Cochrane

Cochrane is known in the healthcare field as producing the “gold standard” in health evidence. While producing high-quality and relevant evidence is Cochrane’s primary goal, disseminating that evidence and establishing brand recognition beyond healthcare workers and organizations is also important. Cochrane recognizes the important role that social media and healthcare influencers play in reaching a general lay audience.

The Association for Healthcare Social Media (AHSM) is a nonprofit organization operated exclusively for charitable purposes per Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, specifically for the purposes of advancing public health by developing and promulgating standards of social media used in healthcare using evidence-based methods that improve the integrity and public transparency of online medical information and encourage the use of social media as a vital educational tool for the dissemination of substantial healthcare professionals.
